TEXTILE SKILLS
From my studies at Nottingham Trent University over the past three years I have developed an aesthetic, the ability to realise, visualise and create my ideas along with a competent understanding of disciplines out of my specialism, including:
Knit: experience with industrial machinery (dubied), hand knitting and yarn knowledge.
Print: practice of screen print with various media and binders such as flocking and foiling, suitable compositions of colours for mixing pigments and knowledge of dyeing fabrics
Weave: an understanding of setting up a warp on a table loom, following lifting plans to create woven sample and yarn knowledge, appropriate to applications.
CAD, Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign Skills.
EMBROIDERY SPECIALISED
Tailoring my textile skills into a specific area has given my work a closer focus and allowed me to find a true creative identity. I have skills in domestic and industrial machines such as:
Irish embroidery
Domestic machinery
Cornelly and Tufter
Embellisher machinery
Wilcom CAD digital embroidery
Hand practices- applique, stitch and embellishment.

My main passions lay in hand embroidery, the aesthetics along with the links to the emotional longevity of creating hand crafted that could become an heirloom piece is something that I have a true affinity for.
